Situated on the pretty village green in the conservation village of Drymen, the Winnock Hotel is just 14 miles from Glasgow and 4 miles from Loch Lomond itself making it the perfect base to explore the Trossachs, Central Scotland and its many attractions. Picture yourself soaking up the atmosphere of this 18th century Inn, sitting beside the roaring log fire whilst planning your day’s exploration of the surrounding beautiful Trossachs countryside with many castles, gardens and city attractions within easy reach. After a full day’s excitement, return to your tasteful bedroom to prepare for a night to remember; good food, fine wine and friendly service. There is no lift but ground floor rooms are available.
The Winnock Hotel is graded 3 stars by the AA. The oldest part of the hotel dates back to the 1700’s. Originally thatched cottages and lived in by four local families, the building once incorporated a “Milk Bar” or “Alehouse”. The hotel has three dining areas: The Merlin Restaurant, The Capercaillie Room and the Ptarmigan Bar. The hotel does not have a lift but ground floor rooms are available on request. Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh are all within an hours’ drive of the hotel. The hotel has real log fires in the lobby and in the Ptarmigan Bar. The hotel has 73 bedrooms which have all been recently refurbished.
